Cyclist rescued after collision with HGV at Lincoln junction - 08/11/12

A 57 year old woman cyclist was trapped under the lorry after the collision at a pedestrian crossing at High Street and St Marks.

The HGV was driven by a 56-year-old Scunthorpe man, towing a white trailer.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue and Lincolnshire Police were called to the scene at around 9.23am to attend the incident.

Emergency services released the trapped woman and she was taken to Lincoln County Hospital with serious leg injuries. Her condition is not thought to be life-threatening.

Sgt Ewan Gell of the Lincolnshire Police Roads Policing Unit is investigating the circumstances of the collision. He is asking for witnesses to contact him via the Police Collision Witness Hotline on 01522 558855.

So far no charge has been brought against the driver.
