Cyclist seriously injured after collision on roundabout in Wigan

A CYCLIST was taken to hospital on a spinal board after being in collision with a car on Friday morning.

Emergency services were called to the Landgate roundabout on Warrington Road just after 8.50am following reports that the driver of a silver Renault Megane and a cyclist had been involved in a collision.

The cyclist sustained “serious injuries” but according to police was conscious and breathing from his nose.

He was taken by ambulance to Wigan Infirmary and was put on a spinal board as a precaution.

The incident happened just off the M6 slip road.
