Cyclist seriously injured in lorry crash - no charges brought

Raymond Richford, 44, was hit while cycling along the A6094 on the outskirts of Edinburgh, when he was hit by a lorry, the driver of which has not been charged.

Richford was crushed under the lorry, breaking both shoulder blades, 17 fractured ribs, paralysed vocal cords and a crushed left lung. He was in hospital for 51 days.

Not only have the police refused to take action, the insurers of the lorry driver are refusing to admit liability.
