Jury urge action needed to improve road junction after driver found guilty of causing death by careless driving

A jury has made the rare recommendation of urging action to be taken at a Hampshire road junction following the conviction of a woman for causing the death of an elderly cyclist.

William Logan, 70, who lived in Eastleigh, died when his bike was in collision with a car on the A334 Shedfield – Botley road in April 2014.

Two cyclists killed by car in Purley on Thames

Two cyclists were killed when they were struck by a car after police were called to a village.

Officers were responding to a “fear-for-welfare” call in Purley Rise, Purley on Thames, West Berkshire, at about 21:00 GMT on Thursday February 13th.

A black BMW related to the call-out struck the cyclists, who both died at the scene, Thames Valley Police said. The driver was later arrested.

Female cyclist killed in hit and run in Pulborough, Sussex (Sept 2013)

A man is to appear in court following a hit-and-run in which a cyclist was killed.

A 27-year-old Jennifer Hossack died at the scene of the incident near Pulborough when a silver Citroen Xsara travelling on the A29 at Codmore Hill overtook another car and crossed a double white line on to the opposite carriageway, Sussex Police said.
